Our possessions all hold memories but sometimes the collections get out of hand and have to be contained. Most of this series of work has been made from old clothes and inherited items from family members.
Coded : Decoded
The Coded : Decoded exhibition theme led me to look at the WW2 diaries of my father in law, a radio officer on the merchant navy convoys. Phrases from the diary were translated into Morse code.

World War 1
My late grandfather drove army trucks in WW1 and almost certainly carried ammunition. The words in the background are the opening line of a letter to my grandmother from the commanding officer on the death of my grandfather---words which must have been written over and over during WW1.
